737 Emirati newborns at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children in Abu Dhabi within 7 months<\/strong><\/p>\n

Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi declared the birth of their 1000th newborn on Tuesday 5th of July 2016. Since the first birth that took place on 28 October 2015 at Danat Al Emarat Hospital, 737 were Emirati nationals.<\/p>\n

Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, CEO & Managing Director of United Eastern Medical Services who owns Danat Al Emarat Hospital, said that the hospital began receiving patients in its outpatient department on 28 August 2015, and the first baby was delivered on 28 October 2015. The number of newborns reached 1000 today at 76 am, an evidence of the growth of the hospital\u2019s various departments offering advanced health services for women and children.<\/p>\n

Vino Nallaya, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital said, \u201cStatistical data indicates that the total number of Emirati babies born at the hospital is 737 of which 408 were males and 329 females. Out of the 1000 newborns, 76 were premature babies born before completing the gestation period, who required admission to the Neonatal Intensive Care U (NICU)nit at the hospital for further care.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also mentioned that 23 pairs of twins and 2 sets of triplets were born at the hospital and were discharged home well.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hospital includes 10 delivery rooms, and 15 NICU beds equipped with state of the art equipment, 6 of which are for delivering level III services, and 9 beds for level II services. As one of the subspecialties we offer, our Fetal Medicine Department has been managing a large volume of high risk pregnancies,\u201d Ms. Nallaya added.<\/p>\n

She also added that the smallest newborn weighed 1100 grams and was born during the 28th week of pregnancy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn line with the high demand for women and children healthcare services, we are considering expanding several departments and are recruiting more physicians, and nurses. Our plan includes hiring 12 physicians of different specializations, and 42 new nurses by the end of 2016, in addition to opening some new specialties as part of expanding offered services to women and children,\u201d Ms. Nallaya concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
