Project valued at AED 440 million scheduled for completion late 2012<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abu Dhabi, UAE:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0UEMedical, Abu Dhabi\u2019s leading healthcare development and investment company, has awarded the construction of the second and final package for Danat Al Emarat Women & Children\u2019s Hospital to the international construction company, TERNA. The value of the contract is AED 440 million for which the required funding is already in place from the National Bank of Abu Dhabi.\u00a0\u00a0The total built-up area of Phase one is approximately 70,000 square meters spread across 11 floors and 2 basement levels with the project scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012.<\/p>\n

\u201cDanat Al Emarat Hospital is UEMedical\u2019s flagship project. We have not spared any resources to ensure that we create a world-class facility, unrivalled in levels of care, comfort and luxury.\u00a0\u00a0To help us achieve this goal we have selected TERNA from amongst the ten leading regional and international contractors who have bid for this project. TERNA clearly has the extensive development, construction, financial and facilities management capabilities necessary to ensure the timely and effective execution of our project\u201d. Located in the new Abu Dhabi Gate City, the 250-bed hospital will provide critically needed maternity and neonatology services in the capital. Danat Al Emarat Hospital will set a new standard in patient care delivery and will become a regional Center of\u00a0excellence in Women\u2019s and Children\u2019s Health, and a referral center for High risk\u00a0pregnancies. To ensure adoption of international standards and best practices, UEMedical has partnered with Singaporean-based ParkwayHealth who will provide clinical development services, and manage day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n

Danat Al Emarat\u00a0is part of the integrated healthcare delivery system being developed by UEMedical. This includes a network of\u00a020 premium outpatient centers under the name of \u2018HealthPlus\u2019, which will be located throughout Abu Dhabi. The first center was inaugurated in 2010 and provides specialty services with a focus on women\u2019s health. It is the only private center in Abu Dhabi to have been awarded the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA). Other centers include the first free-standing Fertility & Genetics Center, a Dialysis Center, in addition to a number of \u2018Boutique\u2019 Family Health Centers.<\/p>\n
