Abu Dhabi, UAE, 13 May 2021: Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi farewelled the Holy Month of Ramadan with the birth of 7 newborns on the last day of Ramadan; and has welcomed 3 newborns in the morning of first day of Eid Al Fitr. The hospital also welcomed 420 newborns during the Holy Month of Ramadan, of which 222 were Emiratis, and 19 twins. Of the total, 204 were girls, and 216 were boys. With that, the total number of newborns delivered at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi has reached 23,439 since the opening of the hospital on October 2015 until today 13 May 2021.

Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical) said, “Our celebrations at Danat Al Emarat are doubled as we welcome our newborns today. Including the babies born at the hospital in the morning of first day of Eid Al Fitr, a total of 23,439 babies have been born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital since our first baby born on 28 October 2015, of which 12,614 were Emiratis. Amongst the total number of births, we had 12,177 boys and 11,262 girls. We are indeed proud of our team of over 200 obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, midwives and nurses who provide unparalleled care to many of Abu Dhabi’s newborns. We expect to welcome another 7 babies by end of today.”

“As we continue to combat the pandemic, and under the guidance and directions of the health authorities in UAE and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, we would like to ensure all patients especially pregnant mothers that the utmost precautionary measures are applied at the hospital ensuring best antenatal and childbirth care is provided and the care is uninterrupted,” Dr. Abdelghany added.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital has welcomed its first newborn for a Yemeni family at 10:16 am of first day of Eid Al Fitr and was named Saif.
The second baby was born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital at 10:19 am for Jordanian family of Mr. Hassan Mohamed Al Azaidh. The father said, “Thanks to Allah for his blessings. We have named our newborn Mariam. She is our second child. She weighed 3.58 KG and is in good health. The baby and her mother are in good health which tripled our joy ad celebrations as we also celebrate the first day of Eid Al Fitr. We were expecting her in 5 days, but with Allah’s will she has joined our Eid celebrations today morning. Our joy today is tripled. Her older brother Mohammed, 4 years old, has been waiting for her. From here, I would like to thank Danat Al Emarat team and Dr. Rasha Al Hilo, my wife’s obstetrician, for the care they have been providing my wife and child, especially during these of COVID-19 pandemic. We have witnessed very strict safety measures throughout our visits to the hospital and today during the birth of my child, which has put us in peace of mind, and we appreciate their efforts in providing consciously high-quality care to all patients.”

Danat Al Emarat Hospital has welcomed its third newborn for at 10:28 am of first day of Eid Al Fitr and was named Alanood. She is the third baby for the family.
