4 June 2019, UAE: Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in Abu Dhabi farewelled the Holy Month of Ramadan with the birth of 11 newborns – 6  girls and 5 boys; and have welcomed 3 newborns during the first few hours of Eid Al Fitr.

The hospital also welcomed 427 newborns during the Holy Month of Ramadan, of which 195 were Emiratis, and 14 twins. Of the total, 196 were girls, and 231 were boys. With that, the total number of newborns delivered at Danat Al Emarat Hospital in Abu Dhabi has reached 13,065 since the opening of the hospital on October 2015.

Danat Al Emarat Hospital has welcomed its first newborn for Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud Zahid from Afghanistan and Mrs. Ayesha Abdullatif Al Butaih, Emirati, after 40 minutes of first day of Eid Al Fitr. The father, 27 years old, said, “my wife due date was on 17 June, but with Allah’s will she started having labor symptoms on last day of Ramadan and here we are now celebrating the birth of our second child, at 12:40 am of the first day of Eid Al Fitr. We have named him Mohammed and he weighed 3.5 Kg. Baby Mohammed and my wife are in good health thanks to Allah. His sister Mahra has been waiting for him, and our celebration today is doubled with his birth and Eid. Thanks to Danat Al Emarat team for the care they have been providing my wife and both children. From here I would like to congratulate UAE leaders, government and the people of UAE and the Islamic nation on Eid Al Fitr.”

The second baby was born at Danat Al Emarat Hospital few minutes before Eid Al Fitr prayer for the family of Mr. Musallam Salem Bin Amro, Emirati. The father said, “She is our first child, and we named her Salama. She weighs 2.7 KG and is in good health thanks to Allah. Having her born today has doubled our joy as we all celebrate the first day of Eid Al Fitr. The baby and her mother are in good health. We were expecting her in 10 days, but with Allah’s will she has joined our Eid celebrations today before Eid prayers. I would like to congratulate our leaders, government and nation on this blessed occasion of Eid Al Fitr.”

Mariano Gonzalez, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical) said, “Including our Eid babies born at the hospital during the early hours of Eid, a total of 13,065 babies have been born at our hospital since our first baby born on 28 October 2015. Amongst the total number of births, we had 6776 boys and 6289 girls. All these precious bundles of joy were managed by our team of over 200 obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, midwives and nurses. We expect to welcome another 7 babies by end of today. From here, we would like to congratulate the UAE’s leadership, government and people on Eid Al Fitr.”

The hospital distributed flowers and gifts for all patients and children who are spending Eid Al Fitr at the hospital.
